"If you do something beautiful with a tree it lives forever" George Nakashima
I discovered live edge wood in 2015 and have been hooked ever since. Popularized in the 1970s by American furniture maker George Nakashima, this style incorporates the wood’s natural edge, making each piece one-of-a-kind.
I travel to sawmills across Colorado and beyond, searching for distinctive grain patterns, colors, and shapes. Once discarded as debris, live edge wood is now carefully preserved, and I source responsibly harvested pieces from dead or dying old-growth trees.
To enhance the beauty of each piece, I inlay turquoise chips into natural cracks and knots. Every creation undergoes 10–15 meticulous crafting steps to achieve its unique look and feel.
For over seven years, my work has been represented at 45°, with over 300 pieces sold—including 100+ tables—now residing in at least 25 states.
