Making art allows me to transform creative ideas into physical form. Working with clay—a soft, humble material—and turning it into something sturdy, functional, or thought-provoking is deeply satisfying.
I currently create two distinct bodies of work:
Effervescence is a playful porcelain series featuring bright colors and rounded forms against a crisp white surface. In a world often weighed down by challenges, these pieces aim to bring lightness and joy to everyday life.
Savoury Ware is a collection of one-of-a-kind soda-fired clay pieces designed for artful daily living. The firing process—where a baking soda solution is sprayed into the kiln at high temperatures—creates a distinctive glazed surface. This unpredictable method yields unique and unexpected results, making each piece special.
I earned my MFA in Ceramics from Kansas State University and now live in La Veta, Colorado, where I work as a studio potter. I teach at Colorado State University-Pueblo, lead workshops, and collaborate with fellow artists.
