I’m Hannah Loesche, a metalsmith and painter-illustrator, and the artist behind n’Grained, a small-batch jewelry studio where I create hand-smithed adornments and painted illustrations inspired by nature, curiosity, and seasonal observation. Raised with New England’s grit and now living and working in Colorado, my work reflects an ongoing conversation between familiar terrain and newly explored environments, honoring process and place through paint and silver.

My practice uniquely marries traditional silversmithing with original watercolor illustration, translated into both sturdy, wearable mementos and small-batch archival art prints. Both my fine illustrations and jewelry pieces begin with time spent observing outdoors and nature journaling—an intentional, healing practice that supports both my mind and body. These studies are then brought to life in my home studio through refined painted field studies and interpretations that are sawn, forged, and shaped into wearable pieces.

Working primarily with recycled sterling silver and natural gemstones, I celebrate the subtle marks of handwork, emphasizing the relationship between material, maker, and found treasures. Both my jewelry and fine illustrations are crafted as keepsakes that celebrate true craftsmanship and strengthen our connection to the natural world.
