In 2017, Reed began crafting sculptural ceramics, focusing primarily on raku-fired pieces. His Connected Collection features wall-hung cubes textured with everyday objects like drill bits, forks, and tent stakes. The Grove Collection, inspired by aspen trees, uses modern, simplified lines and a striking white crackle glaze. Both collections offer flexibility, allowing collectors to curate a single piece or an entire wall of work.
Reed also creates functional pottery with a rustic, minimalist aesthetic. Made from white clay and accented with a dark blue-gray glaze, each piece features hand-etched lines. The matte finish enhances the timeless quality, making them perfect for both daily use and special occasions.
Blending craftsmanship, artistry, and nature, Reed’s work reflects his meticulous attention to detail and love for the handmade.
Reed Fair discovered his passion for art while studying art at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. Alongside his artistic practice, Reed has had a successful career as a custom picture framer.
