The mountains are full of unexpected delights—slivers of light across vast stone faces, deep moss clinging to the edges of cold, winding waters, wildflowers thriving above lonely treelines, and songbirds echoing among towering pines.
For over a decade, I have explored these landscapes, captivated by their shifting moods and quiet wonders. My paintings are an attempt to distill those impressions—a visual record of my relentless observations. These works are deeply inspired by the mountain West, though not bound to specific locations. Instead, they serve as vibrant, sometimes whimsical interpretations of nature’s vast and unpredictable beauty.
I studied at the Baum School of Art in Allentown, PA, and after moving to Colorado in 2011, I began creating imaginative renderings of the American West. My work draws influence from many traditions, particularly Ukiyo-e, the Japanese woodblock printmaking style. Crafted meticulously with soft pastels—without blending tools—each piece has a distinct character and spirit.
