Barry Stevens has been developing his Vortex marble series for over 15 years, and these pieces represent the height of his lampworking craft. Each 2" marble is worked entirely by hand using advanced borosilicate techniques — fuming, implosion, and compression — to suspend a genuine opal at the heart of a swirling interior landscape. The opal catches light from within, throwing flashes of color that shift with every angle.

Stevens' Vortex marbles have been featured in the Summer 2020 issue of Flow Magazine and exhibited at Indigenous, A Handcrafted Gallery in Cincinnati's Modern Marbles Exhibit. No two are alike.
