“Thoughtful” revisits a form I first created years ago—a figure curved inward, both grounded and reflective. The original piece cracked in the kiln, but its spirit lived on, resurfacing in this smaller version. This time, the figure doesn’t rest on a surface; she rises from stone itself, as if shaped by the earth that created her. In the spirit of the Pottery Palooza theme Inside Out, “Thoughtful” embodies the quiet pull between the internal and the elemental. The reminder that reflection often begins where we’re most connected to nature. The piece invites a pause, a breath, and the gentle nudge to listen to what the clay and life might be saying.
