“Muse” began as a vision of a classical Greek figure: serene, feminine, and timeless—but the clay had other plans. As I  worked, the form shifted, revealing the spirit of a Native American man instead. Guided more by feeling than design, the sculpture became a collaboration between artist and material, each responding to the other in an intuitive dance. In the spirit of the Pottery Palooza theme -  Inside Out, “Muse” celebrates that inward conversation the unseen exchange between hands, heart, and clay that gives shape to something unexpected and true. What began as an idea transformed into a story the clay itself wanted to tell.
