These mugs were initially designed as the anti thesis to mass produced slip cast ceramics; I wanted to leave indelible evidence of the maker’s hand (or fingers) on the piece so that they felt undeniably handmade. Later on the design evolved after using the mugs and thinking about different ways to grip drinking vessels. Inspired by rock climbing, the dimples became more elongated and the surface more dynamic and organic. No two mugs are the same.
