How it began:
This unique series of original collages of Colorado’s wildlife and beautiful vistas was my reaction to feeling “down” and trapped by this virus. I longed to travel and visit the amazing open spaces I had enjoyed before. As a Colorado artist ,I have been painting landscape for years. But I wanted to create something totally unique that I could share with others who are also struggling with these longings. I wanted create a unique, happy, uplifting visual experience.
How it took shape:
I created many sheets of colorful ,textured papers and found inspiration in them. I saw shapes that spoke of mountains, grasses, aspen, lakes, rocks, wildflowers. I cut , arranged and recreated my memories of Colorado in a process that is totally unique and whimsical.
We are all in this together:
Creativity is a joyous process for me and focusing on the beauty of Colorado really amplified my happiness. I wanted to share this positive energy.
