I never meant to become an artist; I took an introductory fused glass class at the invitation of a friend and became entranced by it. I’ve spent more than two decades learning about and experimenting with fusible glass. Working with glass is calming yet invigorating, and unpredictable. I enjoy the challenge of piecing together the many different colors, patterns, and textures of glass into a cohesive piece of art. Dichroic glass in particular, which I use extensively in my jewelry, reflects and transmits light and changes with the colors around it. I find inspiration in calming, softer palettes that channel the serenity I feel when surrounded by the natural beauty of both the beaches where I spent my childhood and the mountains I now call home.
