Julia McCracken

“Born and raised in PA, I love the mountain west and have called it home since my family moved to WY in 2014. We transplanted to Colorado Springs in 2020.

I have always loved to create, but my love for leatherwork was born in 2018 when my sister-in-law and I worked together to design some jewelry pieces. I realized how much I love to work with leather, and I began selling my pieces to friends and family. After having success with several Maker Markets, I got into a boutique featuring local artists. When we relocated to CO last year, I was excited that 45 Degree was willing to display my work.

When I am not working on designing and creating, I stay busy with my husband—both of us as parents to our 4 children, he as a pastor and carpenter, and myself as a homeschool teacher to 3 of our kids. We all love the outdoors, spending whatever time we can hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, exploring. I also lose all sense of time when I am creating, baking, or treasure-hunting at thrift stores.”
