Join us on June 7th for a captivating exploration of artistry at 45º during the First Friday ArtWalk, from 5 to 8 pm! This month, we’re thrilled to feature the exquisite works of two exceptional artists: Patrick Kochanasz and Brenda Jones.

Patrick Kochanasz, hailing from the heart of Colorado Springs, brings his mastery of soft pastel painting to our gallery. His pieces are a vivid ode to the majestic landscapes of the mountain West, transcending mere geographical depiction to evoke the essence of these storied peaks. With a touch of whimsy and a palette ablaze with color, Kochanasz’s art captures the resplendent spirit and unpredictable allure of the mountains.

Brenda Jones, a contemporary sculptor based in Peyton, CO, invites us into a world of poignant reflection and nuanced storytelling. Drawing inspiration from her upbringing in 1960s rural America, Jones crafts sculptures that delicately blend nostalgia with incisive critique of traditional gender roles. Each piece is a thought-provoking narrative, such as an iron with the word “scorched” carved into it, a blender adorned with the word “grid,” or a scale bearing the phrase “worth the weight.” These sculptures invite viewers to unravel layers of meaning and interpretation, offering a profound visual journey through the complexities of societal expectations
